Line 6 DL-4 Delay Pedal – A Review

August 6, 2011

When Line six introduced their DL-4 Stompbox in 2000, a Delay modeler pedal, little did they know the crucial acclaim this “small green monster” would create. From Phil Keaggy to Eric Johnson, numerous entire world-class guitarists count the DL-four as a go-to delay pedal. Why all the fuss? What makes the DL-four Delay pedal like a well known item amongst guitarists?

For starters, the Line 6 DL-4 has sixteen delay pedal versions based mostly on such classic delays as the Maestro EP-one Echoplex (a personal preferred of Eric Johnson) to the T.C. Electronic 2290. It includes models from this kind of consequences makers as Roland and Electro-Harmonix, just to title a number of extra.

As well as, it has a designed-in 14 second looping purpose, which includes backwards looping. When not in looping mode, you can save up to three presets. As well as, there’s a faucet-temp footswitch, so you can set the delays to match the tempo of the tune you’re taking part in.

If these sound attributes weren’t adequate, the Line six DL-4 Delay is also developed to previous. It is a minor green tank! Personally, I’ve owned 1 for about six several years, and when it’s beat up to be convinced, it still seems as excellent as it did when I very first bought it.

The DL-4 can run in both accurate bypass and buffered-bypass mode. I choose the latter mainly because it doesn’t cut off your delay trails (and it helps make the volume a lot more consistent as very well).

The DL-4 Delay can function in possibly stereo or mono mode, and it incorporates a jack for an optional expression pedal so you can manage the delay parameters in authentic time.

So, even though Line 6 amps attained them their first good status, it seems that their effects pedals will do the similar. Make no blunder about it. The Line 6 DL-four Delay pedal is a keeper!
